Somalilandsun: The UK premiere Boris Johnson is said to be backing moves to persuade Ambassador Amina Mohamed, a 58-year-old Kenyan politician, to vie election as secretary-general of the Commonwealth

The PM is said to be backing Amb Amina to challenge Baroness Scotland if she refuses to stand down as a campaign to remove the Baroness as secretary-general of the Commonwealth intensifies.

The Kenyan diplomat,  of Somaliland origin  and  currently cabinet secretary for Sports has in the past  served the administration of President  Uhurui Kenyatta as both foreign  affairs and education cabinet secretary.

She has also been candidate for the posts of WTO director general and AU chairperson (profile)

Back in London the Campaign to remove Baroness Scotland descends into a race row as envoys accuse her critics of trying to stop the Commonwealth’s first black leader being re-elected

The  Baroness Scotland Criticism  who was born in Dominica republic was over £250,000 commission to firm run by Labour peer Lord Patel  though Envoys from Nigeria and Namibia are reportedly claiming that  predominantly white member countries in the commonwealth of nations  did not want a black female leader.
