Somaliland: Prominent Poet Dodan Dies in Ethiopia

Late Poet Abdilahi DodaanSomalilandsun – The death has occurred of prominent Poet Abdilahi Ma’lim Ahmed Dodan in Ethiopia.

The late Abdilahi Dodan who died at an Ethiopian hospital where he was receiving treatment for asthma was buried in Jig-jiga town of the Ethiopian Somalia zone five administrations where he has lived for the past twenty years.

The poet whose death was lamented by the deputy minister of information Mr Abdilahi Ukuse saw his burial attended by various personalities and colleagues who travelled all the way from various Somaliland cities among Mohamed Ibrahim Warsame aka Hadraawi.

The late Abdilahi Ma’alim Dodan, who was born in Ethiopia in 1941, gained prominence as poet when he was expelled by the Ethiopian government of whom he had become a thorn in the flesh and continued to do in his exile home in Somalia.
