Guurti Elders in Session/Archive

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The 55th session of the Somaliland national assembly’s upper house popularly known as the Guurti is expected to reconvene earlier than the scheduled period.
This change was necessitated by legislative agendas of national interest whose time frame is equally important amid the fact that the house is on recess.
In a memo issued and signed by the house speaker Suleiman Mohamed Adam informed all Elders from the Guurti to avail for the 55th senior that was supposed to be reconvened on 2nd November to this coming Saturday the 29th day of November 2014.
“This is to inform honorable members that the senior shall kick from Saturday 29th November 2014 due to pending legislators that are of national interest”.
In light of that the speaker was optimistic that members shall avail themselves without failure it is expected that the upper house shall debate and revise amendments made to civic registration act that has elicited uproar from the political elite and in the public domain.
