Somaliland: Djibouti Donates Relief Supplies to 9000 Drought Hit Families

Relief Supplies are slowly trickling into Somaliland from diverse quarters

Somalilandsun – Djibouti government donated a food to 9000 families which are affected by the severe drought hit in Somaliland rural areas particularly west regions such as Awdal and Selal.

Djibouti brought to Somaliland one thousand of tons of food and handed over Somaliland’s national emergency drought committee.

Minister of agriculture of Djibouti Mr. Mohamed Ahmed handed over this aid to Somaliland in lowya-ado located the border between Somaliland and Djibouti on Tuesday .

Minister has noted that Djibouti president Ismail Omar Gelleh has sent after when he saw the severity of drought hit by Somaliland caused the death of more than ten people.
He remarked that their aid is a response of Somaliland’s president Ahmed Mohamed Silanyo who called on the international community to survive the life of the people.
Dr. Ahmed Adan Buhane, member of Awdal and Selal regional emergency drought committee, thanked to the brotherhood donation from Djibouti, and he stated that this food had been submitted to the needy families which the drought has displaced. He said that the food had shipped 41 trucks.
Somaliland government stated earlier that nearly 200.000 families dispersed the whole regions needs urgent food.
