HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – After 120 day’s use of disposable plastic bags in Somaliland shall no longer be legal.
This is per orders issued by President Ahmed Mahmud S8ilanyo through presidential Decree #JSL/M/XERM/249-3178/042015.
The presidential decree released by his press office and in Somali language (See below) also visited the issue of Sanitation
The plastic bags import and subsequent use in the country ban also include those used by companies to advertise their services and goods.
While giving the traders 120 to clear any outstanding stocks in their possession president Silanyo also ordered all local council in the country to institute relevant action upon expiration of the grace period granted for disposal of remaining stocks.
This plastic ban order and subsequent Sanitation concern raised by the state comes in the heels of a nationwide sanitation campaign led by president Silanyo
