The Failed States Index published annually by US-based Fund for Peace Foundation reports that Finland is the world’s most stable state. The foundation compares different countries based on various criteria including human rights, public services, property distribution and the number of refugees.

No other country compares with the high score of Finland. Close behind Finland in ratings are Swedent, Denmark, Switzerland and Norway.

According to the foundation’s report, the most unstable country in the world is Somalia. This was followed by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan and South Sudan.
