Somalilandsun – On 4th and 5thDecember, the Chairman of the European Union Military Committee (CEUMC), Gen. Mikhail Kostarakos, accompanied by the Italian Military Representatives to EUMC, Vice Admiral Stefano Dotti, visited the European Union Training Mission in Somalia (EUTM-S) Headquarters in Mogadishu.
Gen Kostarakos and his delegation have been welcomed by the EUTM-S Mission Commander, Brigadier General Antonio Maggi and his staff.
In two days, Gen. Kostarakos met, EU Special Envoy for Somalia, Ambassador Michele Cervone D’Urso, the Somali Minister of Defence, Abdulkadir Sheikh Ali Dini, with his Deputy, Abdalla Hussein Ali, and Deputy Chief of Defense Forces, Brigadier General Ali Bashe.
The activities included a visit to Jazeera Training Camp and the Xooga Military Hospital.
The official meetings continued with other key partners in Somalia such as Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) for Somalia and Head of AMISOM, Ambassador Francisco Caetano Jose Madeira, UN delegation and EUCAP Nestor. Furthermore, the EUMC Chairman met EUTM personnel.
