With NFMC , Alapala ‘s newest reference project in Africa, Somaliland started producing its own national flour . Alapala, which was established in 1954 in Çorum and established more than 650 turnkey factories in more than 120 countries on four continents, delivered Somaliland’s first flour mill in April 2020.

Alapala, which has played a very active role in the African market for more than 30 years; Besides country offices, logistics warehouses and a wide network of representatives, it is one of the most preferred brands on this continent with flour, semolina and corn mills in many countries such as Senegal, Zambia, Angola, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and Ghana.  Local and traditional flour production thanks to Turkish engineering  Somaliland started to produce its own national flour for the first time with NFMC, the new project of Alapala in Africa, which started operating in the Berbera Port region of Somaliland. NMFC has a wheat processing capacity of 300 tons per day, as well as wheat storage silos with a capacity of 4 x 7.500 tons for the facility to make sustainable production.  All equipment procurement, installation and steel buildings of this important project were realized by Alapala and Alapala group companies.  Hygienic and fast production in fully automatic mill technology The mill, which has an annual wheat processing capacity of 110,000 metric tons, mainly uses hard and semi-hard wheat to produce high quality flour for domestic consumption.

The mill, which has an advanced automation system with Scada software for the control and traceability of production processes, provides the central monitoring of the whole process from wheat purchasing to flour packaging, providing remote connection for real-time fault detection and response. At the same time, Scada software, which is combined with an advanced data monitoring system, collects weighing data from six different areas and analyzes the data to create detailed production reports.  The installation of pneumatic and mechanical conveying equipment has been made in accordance with European Union standards, and all measures are taken with the design of equipment for safe and hygienic product transfer.
