EMBRACE engages in advancing maternal and child health by providing innovative solutions to the world’s most vulnerable populations

Somalilandsun – In July, Programs Associate Brie Stewart conducted a training session on how to use our infant warmers with Sarah David, a registered nurse working with Nurses for Edna. The training was held at Embrace’s office in San Francisco, in preparation for our new program launch at the Edna Adan Hospital in Hargeisa, Somaliland. Sarah is now a certified Embrace representative and will be instrumental in training staff members at the Edna Adan Hospital.

Inspired by the work of nurse/midwife, activist and former Foreign Minister Edna Adan, Nurses for Edna is an organization that seeks to provide education and access to healthcare for women in Somaliland. It creates an opportunity for nurses around the world to volunteer to their time to helping the under-served, under-resourced women in the area.

The Embrace team is excited about this new partnership with Nurses for Edna and the Edna Adan Hospital, and looks forward to spreading the warmth to babies and families across Somaliland.
