Somalilandsun – The Borderlands of South Somalia is a large, socially progressive nation, renowned for its absence of drug laws. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 75 million South Somalians live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.
The tiny, liberal, pro-business, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Welfare, and Healthcare. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 6.5%.
The strong South Somalian economy, worth 4.20 trillion Somali Shillings a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Door-to-door Insurance Sales industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Gambling, and Uranium Mining. Average income is 56,031 Somali Shillings, but there is a vast disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 543,260 per year while the poor average 278, a ratio of 1,948 to 1.
Crime is a serious problem, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. South Somaliland’s national animal is the Hue.
South Somalia is ranked 2,101st in the South Pacific and 67,899th in the world for Lowest Unemployment Rates, scoring 62 on theWorkforce Participation Versus Theoretical Maximum Metric.
