HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The Hargeisa water agency has disconnected supplies to the residence of former president Dahir Rayale Kahin.
While disconnection is a norm for non-payment of monthly fees, reasons are yet to be ascertained on the anomaly leading to ongoing dry taps at the Hargeisa house of the former president which was awarded him for service to the nation as per stipulations of the constitution which dictates that “Upon leaving office every president and vice president of Somaliland shall be availed a house on permanent ownership basis by the government.
Though the former president is in France where he resides since leaving office to current occupier President Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo, his family members left behind in Hargeisa are puzzled by the dry water taps in lieu of the fact that their estate of residence is in an area with24/7 piped water supply.
If this anomaly was a mix-p by the agency it is hoped that the Hargeisa water agency manager shall expedite reconnection and more hopeful the same shall not occur again either to Dahir Rayale of current president upon his leaving office in 2020.
The past and current holders of the office president of Somaliland are national figures and related etiquettes of treatment are worthy of observation at all times notwithstanding of political affiliation.
