Somaliland: “Swedish Delegation in Needs Assessment Visit” Foreign Ministry

HARGEISA: (Somalilandsun) – A five member delegation from Sweden are on a visit in Somaliland where they have already met with senior government officials and several members of the national assembly to discuss the two countries relationship status.

The Swedish delegation led by Hon. Carina Hagg, a member of the Swedish parliament, Johan Augustin, journalist, Lennart Duell, Gothenburg councilor and Jan Oberg met with the country Foreign Affairs Ass. Minister Hon. Mauled Mohamud Ibrahim, where the delegation promised to deposit a Fund to the Somaliland Development Fund (SDF)

This announcement comes after the deputy minister released a press statement disclosing the Swedish delegation visit motive. Said he “the delegation from Sweden have come to assess the needs that Somaliland face so that they can pin point where they may help”

Amb Rodha The deputy minister briefed the entourage the history of Somaliland and also the establishment of the (SDF) adding that Denmark, Norway and the UK have donated $57 million.

The meeting between the Swedish delegation and the foreign ministry was also presided over by the Somaliland ambassador to Sweden Her Excellency, Rodha Jama.
