Somaliland: State and Awdal Traditional Leaders in Security Pact

BORAME (Somalilandsun) – Security in the western regions of Somaliland has been intensified via a pact between the government and traditional leaders.

According to the interior minister Mohamed Ali Waran’ade who is chairing the objectives of the large gathering that has over 200 community and traditional leadership representation is enhance national security from the grassroots to the national level.

Participants include the Borame Council members, Traditional and community leaders from the western regions of the country, the interior, Posts and National Councils coordination ministers Mohamed Ali Waran’ade, Mohamed Jama and Aden Ahmed Warsame respectively who are complemented by the regional governors of Maroodijeeh (Hargeisa), Awdal and Salel (Sayla).

Offering the traditional leaders thanks of the government for their efforts in security cooperation the interior minister who said peace is the main ingredient of national cohesion anywhere on earth stressed on the importance of continued cooperation between the various levels of government and traditional leadership.

Various speakers representing traditional and community leaders in the ongoing gathering at Rays Hotel in Borame who congratulated the government for its security efforts also promised to enhance their cooperation with state apparatus.
