HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – Information indicate that the explosion heard opposite the civil service commission was caused by exploding ordnance buried in the ground decades ago.
The suspect buried mine exploded after sanitation activities that saw a fire lit to burn garbage heated the mine to explosion.
Earlier reports indicating the probability of a suspected AED having been thrown from a speeding taxi have thence been negated by resultant investigations.
Nobody was injured or property destroyed during explosion of the undetected ordnance buried underground for decades.
Police are expected to provide detailed information once investigations are complete.
