Somalilandsun- Disrupted trade, also a war bi-product, makes it very difficult for artists in Somaliland to obtain basic art supplies. This includes acrylic paints and canvas that are readily available in neighboring Ethiopia and Kenya.
This is per Ebony Iman Dallas the founder of Afrikanation Artists Organization who a couple of weeks back, together with Mohamed Cadde, Hanad visited Hargeisa Children’s Orphanage in Hargeisa, Somaliland where she interviewed various stakeholders whose input went towards her piece titled ‘The home in-between: Restoring art culture in Somalia’
