Somaliland: Relief for Lowy’ado Flood Victims

LOWY’ADO (Somalilandsun)-A delegation led by Hon. Adan Ahmed Warsame is heading to Lowyado District taking with them loads of relief food staff meant for the hundred of afflicted residents by the recent rainstorms.

The Minister of Coordination of the National Councils who is also in charge of Research and Technology was accompanied by the Resettlement Minister Hon. Mohammed Abdi Kahin and energy and minerals DG Mr. Said Ahmed Jibril are expected to take the week distributing the items throughout the affected villages and centres in the district.

They will also take general stoke of the situation of the whole area whereby Lowyado district happen to be the major area hit by the calamity caused by rains whose fast wind and subsequent floods left untold damage in form of human and animal life, buildings etcetera.

The area pastoralists have thousands of livestock estimated to be fifteen thousand. Amongst the relief items are foodstuff and associated cooking necessities and beddings.

The most affected was Gargaara centre whereby the largest numbers of IDPs in the region reside.
