LONDON (Somalilandsun) – The government of Somaliland is fully committed in pursuing expected outcomes of the UK Somaliland investment Conference to be held in London on 14th October 2014.
This was revealed by the head of state president Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo at Heathrow airport upon arrival in London for the UK government hosted one day UK -Somaliland Investment Conference that is organized by Developing Markets Associates (DMA) in conjunction with Somaliland’s Missions in the UK.
President Silanyo who departed his country for London on Friday 10th Oct is accompanied by his spouse and Somaliland first lady Amina Mohamed Jirde AKA Amina Weris as well as a powerful government team that includes minister of Commerce and international Investment Dr Muse Qassim Omar, presidency Minister Hirsi Haji Ali, Foreign Affairs Minister Mohamed Behi Younis, Commerce and investment Minister as well as Dr Mohamed Abdilahi Omar among others while the Energy and Minerals minister Eng Hussein Abdi Duale is linking with them in London.

In a post departure address to the nation at the Egal international Airport in Hargeisa president Silanyo said the country shall present the conference with the facts on prevalent investment opportunities that he was hopeful will be a stimulus towards increased investment from firms based not only in the UK but other areas of Europe as well.
The objective of the DMA organized conference, is to promote and facilitate business and investment opportunities between the two countries of Somaliland and United Kingdom and will have in attendance a diverse representatives from UK based companies and Several Somaliland companies from across a number of sectors as well as Diaspora and women-led businesses.
Whilst in London the delegation will network with UK and Somaliland government officials including senior Ministers, officials and as well as large investors from the UK, Europe and other parts of the World. This conference is the first, high profile, investment conference to be held to encourage investment in Somaliland.
