Somaliland: President asks Regional Governors to enhance Security

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – President Silanyo has asked regional governors to maintain prevalent security and peaceful co-existence in their respective domains.

H.E President Silanyo urged security enhancement during a meeting he held with all regional governors at the presidency where he also commended them on development activities undertaken so far.

According to a press statement released by presidential spokesperson Abdilahi Ukuse, 12 regional governors briefed the president prevalent situations in their respective regions as pertains to administration, security , commercial, social and development issues. The 12 who attended the briefing were from Sanaag, Sool, Toghdeer, Odweyne, Badhan, Sahil, Sarar, Marodi jeeh, Hawd, Gabile, Awdal & Salal regions.

In the meeting also attended by interior minister Hon Mohamed Duur Arale and Finance Minister Hon Abdiaziz Muhumed Samale, President Silanyo said it was imperative for Somalilanders in all corners of the country to be availed proper public services.

The president further praised the conducive working relationship that exists between the regional bosses and cabinet ministers. He termed the working partnership as the seed that will germinate national development, cohesiveness and poverty eradication.

This is the first such meeting between the president and all his regional representatives together in the year 2012.
