 Farmers in Somalia especially in Hiraan region turn to the cultivation of the lucrative Marijuana

BELETWEIN (Somalilandsun) – Major supply of Cannabis Sativa in Somalia has been curtailed by Federal Government Security Forces.
This follows the arrest of Ten farmers in Beletwein town Hiraan region of Somalia where the regional commissioner Abdifatah Hassan Afrah reports that hundreds of acreage with ready to harvest Marijuana plant popular known as Hashish were discovered.
The Hiraan regional boss who also said that the farmers will be arraigned in court since the plant is illegal in the country added that authorities suspect the drug is under cultivation by orders of the rebel Islamic movement of Al-Shabaab that is battling the Federal government for control of the war torn country.
