HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The international community is set on revitalization of its interventions in Somaliland and partnership with the government.
This was the agreement reached during a meeting between the Somaliland president Ahme3d Mahmud Silanyo and the Head of the United Nations Office of Coordination for Humanitarian Affairs-OCHA in Somalia and Somaliland Mr. Philippe Lazarini at the Hargeisa presidency.
According to the Minister of Trade and International Investment Dr Mohamed Abdilahi Omar, the international organizations whose interventions in the country were the subject of discussions at the presidency includes the European Union, World Bank and UN Agencies, “It was concurred that this entities enhance prevalent cooperation” said Dr Omar during a post meeting press conference.
Also discussed was the issue of Somaliland’s airspace Vis ‘a’ Vis the recent agreement in Montreal where ICAO agreed to hand over total airspace control to the Somalia Federal Government in Mogadishu.
“With the Montreal agreement it is clear that the joint airspace arrangements reached during talks between Somaliland and Somalia in Turkey mid this year is null and void” said Dr Omar
