MOGADISHU (Somalilandsun) – The President of Somalia’s Federal Government-SFG Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has on Friday revealed that he was behind the withdrawal of Somaliland’s National Defense Forces (S/LNDF) following the troop’s initial occupation of Talleh town early last month.

In the same vein, President Hassan averred that he personally convinced President Silanyo to order the troop’s withdrawal in an effort to maintain peace by avoiding triggering violance that could consequently tilt peaceful & harmoniouse co-existance of the communities inhabiting the town and its envirions.

“It is a fact that recently the situation in Talleh town was highly volatile following the entry of Somaliland’s army that equally saw forces from regional administration of Puntland position themselves from the other side of the border in order to counteract advances from Hargeisa administration. This led to my personal intervention in convincing my Somaliland counterpart presidernt Silanyo to retreat his men for the sake of maintaining peace & stability”, disclosed the ever smiling Somalia President at his Mogadishu’s Presidential villa.

The somali head of state added that he reprimanded Abdiwelli Gas, the regional administrator of Puntland that falls under his jurisdiction to ensure peaceful co-existance of community within his region as a way of curbing further loss of Somali people.

Hassan acknowledged Mogadishu’s success in cooling the volatility when his administration pleaded Hargeisa to withdraw their troops over a region that is indisputably within their borders.
