Somalilandsun: The spokesperson of the Human Rights Centre- HRC has just been arrested by police in Hargeisa
According to a source within HRC the organization’s spokesperson Ahmed Hussein Abdi was arrested between 7-8pm this evening and is currently in police custody at the capital Hargeisa
Though details and circumstances leading to his arrest and subsequent remain scanty it is believed that a press statement he issued this afternoon in which the rights body demanded police stop harassing his boss might be the reason.
In the statement the HRC asked police to stop harassing Guleid Ahmed Jama , allegedly because of a police reform petition to the president the activist fronted.
