GABILE (Somalilandsun) – An accident caused by over-speeding drivers ensued with the death of two commuters at the busy Hargeisa Gabile road.
The fatal collision between a Noah PSV and Mark II car owned by the Faras Khat Company saw a woman and male passengers aboard the Khat car die on the spot while others received injuries of varying degrees.
On the scene pictures taken by oodweynews.com indicate that the deceased woman had her head severed from the rest of the body.
While traffic police are yet to comment on the fatality the known fast driving of Khat transporters is difficult to avoid blaming for the accident an subsequent deaths and injuries that occurred.
On the other hand and despite attributing the increase in road accidents within Somaliland to unlicensed drivers and acknowledging poor roads and unskilled mechanics as part contributors the Traffic police is yet to embark on any remedy measures and until they do Somalilanders should brace for more deaths and injuries.
