Somaliland: Ethiopia Zone 5 Regional President lauds SL Efforts

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun)-The President of Somali Regional Administration of Ethiopia (Zone5) H.E. Abdi Mohammed Omar applauded Somaliland’s good gesture of fortifying neighbourly and associated bilateral relations.

He made his sentiments in his office while receiving SL delegation lead by Information Minister Hon. Abdillahi Mohammed Dahir (Ukuse) who paid him a courtesy call.

The zone five President noted that the resident communities of the two neighbours were integrated with so much in common that they were inseparable.

He said that the SL visit would uphold goodwill perception and induce harmony amongst the neighbours.

He welcomed the SL efforts on good neighborliness and lauded this country for the development steps it has taken.

He particularly noted his appreciation on the efforts Somaliland makes in combating insecurity in the Horn region.

On the other hand Hon. Abdillahi underscored the fact SL is keen on forging closer ties with her neighbor and prioritizes bilateral and security relations.

He thanked the zone five President for having accorded scholarships to educate and train SL students in Ethiopian college and universities.

He promised to convey H.E. Omar’s message to H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Mohamud.

Hon. Ukuse was accompanied by Health Minister Hon. Hagletosie, Deputy Commerce Minister Hon. Bashiir Abdi Harir, Kulmye secretary general Mr. Hassan Said, Preesidential Advisor on eastern regions Mr. Fuad Adan Ade and the DGs for Foreign affairs and Fisheries ministries Messrs. Mohammed Hussein Said and Mohammed Elmi Adan with H.E. Omar was his second in command and several cabinet ministers.

Journalists from both sides attended the meeting at Jijiga Presidential Palace.

Meanwhile the zone-five President has revealed that his administration had in its custody 1800 shoats (sheep and goats) and 560 head of camels that they recovered from ONLF bandits.

“The animals are presently herded by security personnel,” he said while asking and appealing to their owners to claim them back.

He made the revelations on Idd day celebration where he pledged that his administration was bent on availing public and social services to all parts of the region.

He reminded the people that prior to the Zenawi administration, the region had no iota of water wells or roads.
