Voters in line to vote in past somaliland elections

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The 2015 national budget is set for parliamentary approval or rejection.
This comes after a cabinet meeting chaired by Somaliland president Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo approved in Toto the 2015 annual budget presented by finance minister Abdiaziz Samale.
Superseding the current one by $30m Somaliland national budget approved by the cabinet stands at $250m with the central government allocated $180m and local councils the remaining balance of $70m.
It is expected that the budget that also includes the government’s contribution towards presidential and parliamentary elections slated for next year as well voter registration shall receive expedited debate and approval by parliament.
Sources indicate that the ministry of finance has not allocated any funds to the imminent citizen’s registration since the exercise is an ongoing one with past allocations.
