Somaliland: Danish Government Commits to Enhanced Cooperation

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – Over a period of five years the people and Government of Denmark have expanded cooperation with Somaliland ensuing with development interventions in more sectors and deepened funding.
This was revealed by the outgoing Danish envoy to Somaliland and Somalia Ambassador Geert Aagaard Andersen at the presidency in Hargeisa during a joint post president Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo meeting press briefing with foreign minister Mohamed Behi Younis.
While wishing Somalilanders a happy Ramadan fast leading to a peaceful Idd-ul-Fitr celebration the Danish diplomat said that Somaliland is fertile for development thence his pledge to continue his support at his future posting.
Stating that the existing relations between Denmark and Somaliland is founded on Trust ,confidence and Dialogue Amb Anderson who commended local authorities revealed that their obliging nature enabled the two countries to Turn a lot of stones thence Found better grounds for cooperation during his five years as the Danish envoy to Somaliland and Somalia.
President Silanyo chairing the meeting between the Danish team led by Amb Geert Aagaard Andersen and Somaliland officials at the presidency in Hargeisa Thanking Amb Andersen for his diplomatic prowess that has concluded with enhanced relations and increased development support especially through the Somaliland Development Fund –SDF from the authorities in Copenhagen foreign minister said that Somalilanders will always be grateful to the outgoing envoy while anticipating his promised campaign towards the country’s international recognition as a sovereign nation.
