President Silanyo swears Aden Haji Ali to the office of Somaliland Justice Chief

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – lawyer Aden Haji Ali has official assumed the office and duties of Somaliland chief justice.
At a function held at the presidency in Hargeisa, Aden Haji Ali was sworn into office by President Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo thus, the lawyer’s official ascension into the country’s highest judicial office.
“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of Chief Justice, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the laws and Constitution of the Republic of Somaliland.” Said the new chief justice with his right hand placed on top of the holy Quran.
The journey to the highest judicial office of the country started for the youthful lawyer when president Silanyo appointed him on Sunday, 24 May 2015 to replaced then incumbent Yusuf Ismail Ali whom the head of state had sacked a while earlier through presidential decree # JSL/M/XERM/249-3197/042015.
Being a constitutional office the appointment received a  unanimous parliamentary approval during a joint session of the country’s two tier August house where elders from Guurti and MPs of the house of Representative debated the merits and demerits of the appointment on 3rd June 2015.
