SOMALILAND: Behi Briefs World on Country’s Status Quos in CNN Interview

LONDON: (Somalilandsun) -“Talks between Somaliland and Somalia will accelerate the Somaliland recognition fate that is in the hands of the international community”.

This was informed by the Somaliland Minister of Foreign affairs Hon. Mohamed Bihi Yonis in an interview with the (show today) a program of the CNN in which he also spoke of Somaliland’s Ernest endeavor to achieve its rights of statehood, its fight against terrorism, piracy, the security prevalence and the talks between Somaliland and Somalia.

In the live televised show with CCN international of one of the world’s biggest news broadcasters the Minister started by giving a brief past history of misfortunes and remarkable achievements. Said he” after the eviction of Gen. Siad Barre Somalia remained in a state of crisis occupied by unending war while Somaliland established a functioning democratic government in 1991″ he added the nation economy backbone is the export of livestock to the gulf states. The minister said Somaliland has achieved to prevail its peaceful security and wants to share it with the world.

SL biggest exporter

When asked about the talks with Somalia the minister said” the last month talks in Istanbul saw the Somalia representative accept the atrocities done to Somaliland and agreed to bring to justice all who were behind the acts against humanity.
