Somaliland: Barefooted Child Found Alone In Birmingham Streets

A member of the public found the barefoot child alone in Chesterton Road in Sparkbrook

Somalilandsun – West Midlands Police are appealing for help in tracing the family of a four-year-old boy who was found wandering the streets in bare feet in Birmingham.
The child, believed to be a four-year-old boy from Somalia, was found by a member of the public in Chesterton Road, Sparkbrook just before 10pm on Thursday (12 June).
The child was taken to a local police station, for his safety, before been handed over to social services.
The boy’s family are yet to be located and he has so far not been able to tell the authorities his name or any other details about himself.
He is described as black, with short black afro hair, wearing a yellow t-shirt and navy tracksuit bottoms.
Act insp Amer Shams, from Birmingham East Police, said: “This is obviously very unusual and worrying, we urgently appeal for the parents, or anyone who believes they may know the family of this little boy to contact us.
“Thankfully he did not come to any harm and he is being well looked after. We need to try and get him back to where he should be.
“We thank the members of the public who asked quickly and responsibly in contacting us after finding the child in the street last night.”
