Somalilandsun -Everyone in Djibouti has in memory the tragedy that occurred on the morning of January 11, 2017 at the animal shelter of Douda in Djibouti.
That morning, dozens of children on school visit to the shelter encountered a lie threatening disaster when two lions decide to attack the group.
The teacher who accompanied the children died as a result of her injuries and two children were seriously injured.
One of them later succumbed to death at the Peltier hospital, while Aisha, a seven-year-old girl, remained between life and death.
Three days after the attack, the head of state Ismail Omar Guelleh personally took charge of the case and decided to have her, Aisha, evacuated to France accompanied by her parents and her little brother. The injured girl and her family expense while in France were fully covered by the President.
After two months of intensive care and rehabilitation at Necker Hospital, Aisha is saved. She returned home to Djibouti on the 12th JUNE 2017 accompanied by her parents and younger brother. Her mother, who was present at the shelter on the day of the terrible accident, had grateful words for President Guelle and his wife who fully took care of the costs of caring for her child in one of the best hospitals of the world.
The smile of Aisha is a note of hope in the heart of summer.
