TIKA on behalf of government of Turkey Supports Mogadishu Municipality Infrastructural Development

Somaliland Sun – An Assortment of Machinery and equipment were supported by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in Somalia for use in the city infrastructure of Mogadishu Municipality.
Having successfully completed many large projects in Somalia since 2011, TİKA has supported machinery, equipment and facilities for use in the city infrastructure of Somalia’s largest city and capital Mogadishu Municipality. The whole city infrastructure collapsed, especially in Mogadishu, due to the civil war that started in Somalia in 1990. Thanks to the project implemented by TİKA, 34 kilometers of asphalt roads were constructed for the first time after the war in the city center, equipped with lighting poles with solar lighting system as well as environmental regulation around the roads.
Machinery, equipment and facilities used within the scope of Mogadishu Asphalt Road Rehabilitation Project implemented by TİKA were delivered to Mogadishu Municipality for use in urban infrastructure services. Törende handed the machinery equipment to Mogadishu Deputy Mayor Aiden Sheikh Calı Fıdow.
