GAROWE (Somalilandsun) – “No personal bodyguards are allowed for any person forthcoming presidential elections in Puntland except me”
This was stated by the president Abdirahman Farole of the Somali administrative region of Puntland during a press conference in the region’s capital of Garowe during a post Italian Ambassador meeting press conference.
Farole who informed that the conducive security environment in Puntland negates any need for personal body guards urged his opponents in the forthcoming elections to be satisfied with the usual security accorded all citizens and await presidential security once and if elected to the Puntland presidency.
The targeted presidential candidates are yet to issue comment on the denial of personal body guards, a situation that leaves them naked to aggression by Farole who has already unleashed one of his powerful sons against the candidates.
