Somalilandsun – New data on measles mortality estimates & how measles outbreaks continue unabated indicate that there were More than 140 000 measles deaths in 2018 globally.

This follows a joint WHO/ CDC release on the latest measles mortality estimates, of which UNICEF is a part

  • A UNICEF fact sheet based on these estimates that provides more information about measles cases in 2018 and 2019, as well as the latest on the 5 countries that accounted for almost half of all measles cases worldwide in 2018: Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Liberia, Madagascar, Somalia and Ukraine. In addition, the fact sheet also contains latest information on Samoa.
