Somalilandsun- While expressing my confidence that the friendly relations existing between our two countries shall not only be sustained but strengthened further, I take this opportunity to express my government’s congratulations to the people and government of Somaliland on the occasion of your 26th independence day anniversary.
This was stated by the Ethiopian Consul General in Somaliland Brigadier General Berhe Tesfaye in a message to the foreign minister in Hargeisa.
Somaliland which gained independence from Britain in 1960 has 18th May the day on 1991 it withdrew from its 1960 voluntary later turned fateful union with Somalia commemorated as Independence Day.
Though annual 18th May Day shall not be commemorated this year as the country marks 26 years of sovereignty having been replaced with drought relief activities, the Ethiopians always good friends of Somaliland did not forget.

unfortunately you're not getting my message across to your head my friend burco kibireey, not burco zoomalia forget about this shit administration with all it's thieves and sick handicaps, who'll soon be swept off the earth and fucked in a daylight, today 100% of our people hate these people even more than faqash since they are in-different to our people's suffering while they're enjoying their lot, but that doesn't make us any closer to the enemy we have long disposed of, we're free spirited nation and amount of intimidation can hold us back we know tomorrow we going to realise our today's dream no doubt, our people are very resilient and we're going on pal,
we don't look back to afwaynism or faqasism forget it, don't even waste your breath.

Listen my friend, you are side stepping what my opinion of North Somalia or some may call Somaliland is. We had beef we now have peace, but other than nothing has changed in 30 years we are going backwards with human rights and democracy. There is no reconciliation like (the way the rest if the world solve their beef) and the political system/parties is tribal. I'm HJ and BA and will still tell the truth. Not ONE country recognises us and two countries that manage our main assets don't too. You cannot enter the UAE with a Somaliland passport. No roads hood energy sources and drought. We need to work with other Somalis and build our country. The world will never recognises us as we are small in numbers and just the same ad other Somalis. Wake up and smell the coffee

I want to remind Mr. Burco Somaliya that during the time when Bare was destroying our country and killing our people, the IC , or more correctly speaking, the West and the Arabs were arming the dictator. I don't blame them because they were fulfilling their national interests. Time has changed. Now we have our land, our people are enjoying their lost freedom, and our destiny is in our hands.

Lol fake lol. Just because I'm asking real questions you are calling me fake Burco. My friend there are plenty of people within the so called Somaliland who know the bigger picture and the penny dropped fir them a long time ago. What have we achieved in 26 years apart from peace? Somali phobia? The African neighbours and the IC know the bigger picture. Every country in the world has a Somaliland type situation so why are they going to recognised Somalis from other Somalis. Where do we draw the line. Hard talk no substance and if we don't speak up about our land and how it's getting taken over by foreign entities we will never get it bsck

Somaliland has a unique relationship with Ethiopia. Apart from being the only country that gave the people of Somaliland refuge after Siyad Bare's attemp to cleanse them, the two countries enjoy between them high-valued relationships. They share strategic agreements including security, and trade. The people of Somaliland will not forget Ethiopia.
