International Community Mulls Resuscitation of Stalled Somaliland Talks with Somalia

Somalilandsun- As things look at the moment the Somalia/Somaliland talks has stalled. However UN and some countries are trying to bring the parties together to the negotiation table this is according to information reaching the Horn Newspaper from reliable sources. The UN special envoy to Somalia and Somaliland Mr.Nicholas Haysom held different meetings with the president of Somaliland and Somalia Mr.Musa Bihi Abdi and Mr.Mohammed Farmajo informing them the importance of kick starting the stalled talks he also suggested that the talks should be held in a new venue and chose South Africa rendezvous. Nevertheless even though the ambassador is busy in bringing the parties together he has not succeeded in slating a date to jump start the talks.

A source informed the Horn that the US ambassador Mr.Donald Yukio Yamamoto in a recent meeting with president Farmajo insisted on the start of talks between Mogadishu and Hargeisa, however the informant did not divulge Mr.Farmajo response.  The US envoy is expected to jet into Somaliland to hold talks with president Bihi to propose the start of stalled talks.

Early this week EU delegation met with the president Bihi and discussed the start of the stalled Somalia/Somaliland talks.
