Mogadishu is set to host a conference to present an apolitical perspective on Somalia by bringing together local NGOs and the diaspora - in parallel with a United Nations-backed international conference on the Horn of Africa country taking place in Turkey from May 31 to June 1. How will the Mogadishu meeting compare to the one in Istanbul? Organisations involved in Mogadishu include the Humanitarian Forum, the Muslim Charities Forum, Somali Humanitarian Operational Consortium and Somali Relief and Development Forum. |
