| Somaliland: SLFA Acquires Referee Kits |

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The Somaliland Football Federation-SLFA has received a donation of referee kits. The donation was handed over to the minister of youth, sports and culture Hon Ali Saeed Raygal by the bearer Mr. Mohamed Hussein who represented the UK based donor Mr. Abdi Aziz Ali Yusuf. During a telephone interview with the Somalilandsun Mr. Abdiaziz Ali Yusuf, said the desire to assist with referee's kit emanated after he watched the 2011 regional tournament held in Burao where he observed that football referees were operating devoid of appropriate kits He said that the 15 sets of full referees tools which include uniforms, whistles, cards (red &Yellow) socks etc. were purchased through his personal savings and hopes to increase the number as he is soliciting funds from friends. Mr. Abdiaziz Ali who is a British-Somalilander working for the Royal bank of Scotland as relations officer is also a qualified English FA referee. He promised to further solicit funds which will assist the referees get skills training from FIFA recognized referees. During the handover ceremony in Hargeisa the sports minister thanked Abdiaziz for his donation which was termed as apt and timely. |
