Elumelu the founder of the Tonyelumelufoundation that targets providing $100m to 10,000 African Entrepreneurs within ten years.
Since the TEF funding scheme was started three years ago only seven citizens from Somaliland and Somalia have applied and in the process only two from Somaliland have succeeded.
But things are set for a change as Guul Group consultancy firm pursues to have 100 citizens of both Somalia and Somaliland apply in 2018 the fourth year for TEF.
To this effect Guul Group a local consultancy firm registered in the United Kingdom and Somaliland launched an Application drive at the Ambassador hotel Hargeisa.
Sponsored by among others Telesom company, Premier Bank, Kow Media and Ambassador hotel participants included the ministry of Investment, Chamber of commerce, NERAD and ministry of employment as well as hundreds of prospective applicants
According to the Guul Group CEO Guleid Harun Ibrahim the Tony Elumelu Foundation can be a very useful vehicle not only for availing entrepreneurship grants but employment creation as well.

Apart from the multitude of encouragement words from dignitaries the event was graced with the presence an presentations by the two Somaliland beneficiaries of TEF, one having opted to greenhouse far and the other in soap production
