Speaker of parliament and Wadani party leader Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi Irro seeps a cup of tea with supporters after registering as a voter in Hargeisa

Somalilandsun- Residents of Maroodi-jeeh region have been urged to fully utilize the opportunity availed by the National Election Commission-NEC and register as voters.
This urging was made by the speaker of the Somaliland house of representative Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi ‘Irro’ in Hargeisa after registering as a voter.
“Am not only happy to register as a voter but also extend my congratulations to NEC for apt activities in all the regions so far completed and more the ongoing in the country’s capital region” said the head of the legislature.

Irro who also doubles as leader of the opposition party of Wadani and its presidential candidate in Elections slated for March 2017 was accompanied by his spouse Mrs Farduus Mohamed Roble, party Secretary General, other functionaries and a large contingent of supporters.
While commenting residents of Hargeisa who have already registered as voters Speaker Irro also urged those not yet in the records of NEC to do so thus stake a claim on the Somaliland leadership during presidential and parliamentary elections to be held in the first quarter of next year.
Irro met with US congressional leaders during his Tour of North America To date NEC has so far completed registering voters in the regions of Toghdeer, Awdal and Sahil while ongoing in Maroodi-jeeh (Hargeisa) is in its phase II and shall be followed by Sanaag and Sool regions.
Irro and company registered as voters a day after he returned home from an extended tour of North America where he had fruitful discussions with US congressional leaders and Somalilanders living in both the US and Canada where he also participated in commemorations marking the country’s 25th anniversary of re-independence.
