Bridging the investment gap in Somaliland – Investment facilitation | Business opportunities | Entrepreneurship enhancement
Somalilandsun – Guul group is looking for a Small Market Enterprises Advisor/Consultant with responsibilities for conducting advisory engagements (which span strategy consulting, investment readiness, partnership facilitation, project development support, and “customised projects”) with SMEs and social enterprises.
The ideal candidate who should hold a Degree (BA) in Business, Economics, Finance plus 5+ years experience in management or strategic consulting (Master of Business Administration an advantage) will also be Supporting clients to access financing with financiers, investment requirements, and transaction structures to advice clients and help them be successful in closing transactions.
Other duties include Developing pipeline projects that fit Guul Group’s priorities/capabilities with new clients while Helping to develop the GG internal processes and knowledge of technologies, business models, regulatory issues, financing process, etc.

Responsibilities for the role include:
•Conducting advisory engagements (which span strategy consulting, investment readiness, partnership facilitation, project development support, and “customised projects”) with SMEs and social enterprises.
•Supporting clients to access financing with financiers, investment requirements, and transaction structures to advice clients and help them be successful in closing transactions.
•Developing pipeline projects that fit Guul Group’s priorities/capabilities with new clients.
•Helping to develop Guul’s internal processes and knowledge of technologies, business models, regulatory issues, financing process, etc.
•Delivering high quality work product and providing high quality inputs to colleagues, with attention to detail and a focus on results.
Degree (BA) in Business, Economics, Finance. Master’s of Business Administration a plus
·5+ years experience in management or strategic consulting or financial advisory, (and/or)
5+ years experience in energy project development, operations, or financing; or experience in early-stage entrepreneurship, (and/or)
Experience as an early-stage business building as an entrepreneur, investor (PE/VC/impact investing), or other service provider e.g. Acceleration
- Very strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Good team building and motivational skills with an ability to work with
a diverse mix of professionals and deliver.
- A can-do and collaborative mindset – comfortable with the ambiguities
and demands of a rapidly evolving and entrepreneurial environment.
Somali speaking and understanding of local culture as well as Experience working and an understanding of unique challenges faced by businesses operating in Somaliland/Africa.
