Somaliland sun – The fourth-day of this conference was focused on discussing the strategic foreign policy. The discussion was chaired by Minister Dr. Saad Ali Shire. The Minister said “This gathering is about how to achieve diplomatic recognition.” He expressed his gratitude towards all participants joining this discussion. Their contribution and remarks is playing a significant role on finalizing the foreign policy.
Amongst the contributors were the former Foreign Ministers, parliamentarians various stakeholders and the leaders of the opposite political parties. Dr Edna said that, “the foreign policy is not something that interests the Ministry of Foreign Affairs alone but it also concerns the people of Somaliland.”
This discussion was to record everyone’s input in this debate. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reassures the people of Somaliland that it will continue to strive for recognition. The Foreign Minister said that “the Republic of Somaliland is a de facto state which is expressing its freedom for statehood.”
