SOMALILAND: Physicians Utilize Ultrasound Skills after Training by Human Care Diagnostic Center and Mindray Company

Somalilandsun -Twenty three medical practitioners from across the country will receive an intermediate to advanced level of exposure to ultrasound by attending a two day workshop on ultrasound provided by Human Care diagnostic Center and Mindray Company in Hargeisa.
The training which was opened on Thursday by a senior official in Somaliland’s Ministry of Health will equip the participants the knowledge of ultrasound including diagnostic scanning and state-of-the-art techniques in ultrasound-guided procedures, which will improve patient outcomes.
The chairman of Human Care Diagnostic Mr. Ali Bashir Mohamoud Abdilahi while speaking at the opening ceremony of the workshop has stated that the skills which will be acquired from the workshop by medical experts in various fields of the medical profession will help the health sector.
Officiating at the opening ceremony and on behalf of Ministry of Health and Labor, Dr. Essa thanked Human Care diagnostic Center and Mindray Company for offering necessary training to caregivers across the country and stressed that the ultrasound training will help reduce the number of pregnancy related deaths among women in the country.

“We are very grateful to Human Care diagnostic Center and Mindray Company for offering the much needed ultrasound training to our health professionals” Dr. Essa stated.
Dr. Essa went on to say; “as you know the country has continued to lose lives due to lack of effective ultrasound services in both urban and rural areas and this training will specifically help reduce the number of pregnancy related deaths among women in the country.
Mindry Company representative, Mr. Malthew Wang who also spoke at the opening ceremony shed light on the advantages of ultrasound imaging in terms of cost and effectiveness.

It is noteworthy to mention that the training will be delivered by Maria Elizabeth, a British ultrasound specialist with more than twenty seven years of experience in ultrasound imaging.
Human Care Diagnostic Center which is equipped with state-of-the-art ultrasound imaging capability is the first of its kind in the country which offers cost effective ultrasound diagnostic scanning using state-of-the-art techniques in ultrasound-guided procedures.
