HARGEISA: (Somalilandsun):- The President H.E Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud Silanyo left the country on Friday morning in an impromptu official trip to Addis Ababa.

“I’m leaving for Addis Ababa on an official invitation by the Ethiopian PM”, said the Head of State at the airport to reporters.

He congratulated the new Puntland presidential winner Mr. Abdiweli Gaas on his triumph “I hail the new winner in Puntland in a change of guard of a peaceful election”, said the president. He said that he expected the new leader to work towards the maintenance of peace and stability in the region.

The president reiterated his interior minister’s words that the state would not accept subversive actions from any individual in the country. He said that the responsibility of leading, planning or decision making processes of all state issues rested with the government.

In an apparent answer to opposition belligerents who were protesting against their non-inclusion in the SL\Somalia talks and their subsequent threats to start parallel talks with the southerners (Mogadishu), the president was quite vivid.

“The state would pick whoever it deemed fit for any mission”, he said and cautioned, “there was never before (and there isn’t now) any other entities other than the state who can indulge either directly or indirectly in such matters”.

He further warned, “Anyone who opts to indulge in any such or sort of subversive tendencies would be deemed as having committed treachery.”

Hon. War-ade had over the week cautioned UCID’s Chairman Feysal Ali Waarabe when the latter threatened to start parallel talks with the Somali government of Mogadishu. “Feysal’s utterances are quite dangerous because they directly undermine the essence of the country’s nationhood”, said Hon. Waran’adde characterizing them as subversive treachery.

The President is scheduled to have lengthy meeting with PM Deselegn in which matters pertaining to bilateral relations on security and trade are expected to feature highly.
