HARGEISA: (Somalilandsun)- The 6th Hargeisa International business fair opened its doors to members of the public at hotel Guleid when the Vice President Mr. Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail ‘Sayli’cut the ribbon of the bonanza.
The fair which will be open from 1st-7th January 2014 will see more than 100 companies exhibit their wares to the pubic several ministers and intellectual were president at the opening ceremony event speaking at the revue the proprietor of Guleid Hotel Mr. Ali Omar Guleid greeted the Vice President and welcomed the guest of honour and other exhibitors to the fair.
Mr. Guleid said that before embarking for the preparation he was doubtful but overcame his fear from inspirations by the minister of civil aviation and air transport Mr. Mohamoud Hashi who had done a marvelous work at Egal International Airport.
He went on to welcome some big names in the Somaliland business circles such as Somaliland Bottling Industries (SBI), The Dahabshiil Group and Somtel, Telesom and Harbi Group to the fair. The fair was organized by Somaliland chamber of commerce and industry to help businessmen to find a platform to exhibit their goods and services to the public.
The chairman of the Somaliland chamber of commerce and industry Mr. Shugri Jama said that a bill has been tabled in parliament to counter loopholes that exists in the country chamber of commerce.
Also present was the minister of Industry Mr. Abib Dirie Nour and the deputy minister for commerce and international investment Mr. Bashir Abdi.
The Vice President said that today is joyous day for the country and shows the international community the peace and prosperity in Somaliland so that international investors should not shy a wall and put their money in the country which is safe haven for investment.
The Somaliland chamber of commerce, industry and agriculture was established on 25th October 1993 under the Public Law No. 35 as an independent entity owned by the business community. Currently the chairman of the chamber is Mohamed Shukri Jama see more details http://www.somalilandchamber.com
